So right now i am using Windows Vista Home Premium and i don’t have the disk because it’s a laptop. So if i Have a 100 GB partition with nothing on it and put the Ubuntu CD in, will it automatically put it on the 100 GB partition? Because i don’t want to loose Vista.

Theres a method to boot from USB, so that you can install without the need of a disc, This means you can also duplicate operating systems, like if you have vista on your desktop and XP on your laptop, but you want Vista on both, well, now you can.
